At the Solb\u00f8 nursing home in Sokndal, Kepler Vision Technologies’ smart sensors with artificial intelligence have been in use since May to enhance resident safety. The sensors register movement and immediately alert caregivers to abnormal behavior, such as when someone gets out of bed unaided. <\/p>\n

Initially there were concerns about privacy, but the sensors do not store images and only transmit text notifications. According to residents and staff, the system increases safety and reduces the need for night shifts. <\/p>\n

The municipality of Sokndal <\/span> wants to extend the technology to care and private homes so that more residents, including people with dementia, can live independently for longer. A total of NOK 2.5 million has been set aside for the project. Sokndal, along with Nes, is one of the first municipalities in Norway to introduce this technology. <\/span><\/p>\n
