The function

We are looking for a Software Engineer with a strong academic background in computer science and AI who wants to grow into a key player within our AI and software engineering team. You will work closely with experienced AI engineers and software developers on complex, production-ready systems deployed in real healthcare environments.

Product development includes cameras, embedded AI models, embedded software and integrations with healthcare systems.

This position suits someone who is analytically strong, works hands-on and enjoys taking responsibility.

What will you do?

• Develop and improve computer vision models and supporting software for real-world healthcare applications
• Work on codebases in C++ (CMake) and Python
• Translate research concepts into pragmatic, maintainable and high-quality software
• Collaborate intensively with AI engineers and software engineers
• Take ownership of complex programming tasks and contribute to collaborative technical developments
•  Contribute to system architecture, model performance and software robustness
  Possibly work with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform)

Your profile

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
• Strong interest in healthcare technology and real-world impact
• Experience with:
  • C++ and CMake
  • Python
  • Computer Vision (AI)
• Able to work on complex development tasks in a collaborative setting
• Comfortable taking technical ownership and guiding shared development efforts
• Mentality:
  • Problem solver
  • Curious and eager to learn
  • Pragmatic and flexible

Practical requirements

• Valid work permit for the Netherlands already present
