Kepler night nurse and Kepler NurseAssist improve patient safety

“Kepler Night Nurse is a wonderful technology that allows us to take patient follow-up to the next level, thereby improving the quality of care and patient safety. In hospitals and beyond, understanding and managing medical alerts is critical to making such technology successful for both users and patients.”

The impact is great

More peace of mind for the resident, more peace of mind for the employee, and above all, much more focused safety. The use of Kepler’s AI system makes it possible for our clients to continue living longer, more safely and with more quality of life in their familiar surroundings. And that will always remain the most important goal for us.

Increase safety and comfort in the nursing home

At Joriszorg, we use Kepler’s smart sensors, one of the providers tested by Digizo.nu. The biggest advantage of Kepler’s smart sensor for the client is more freedom, privacy and customized care. For the medworkers, it gives them more peace of mind because they don’t have to visit every room. They can rely on the system and automatically get a notification if something is wrong.

More time for direct client care

“After two departments have been live for quite some time, now employees are coming to us when they can also start using Kepler Vision Technologies’ fall prevention/fall detection. They see it as an opportunity to have to check fewer alarms as a result and be able to devote the time left over to direct client care. This month, two more departments go live at Care in October.

Supervises confused and lost patients

“With the Kepler Night Nurse, the night nurse in our neurology department has an additional means of monitoring confused and wandering patients. We are now notified if this patient gets out of bed or leaves their room. Another means of having fewer lost patients on this type of ward.”

Dirk Van Raemdonck, Head of Nursing UZ Brussel

No sounds and lights with Kepler Night Nurse

The first time, the sensor had yet to be set properly and they thought I had fallen out of my chair. But I had just put the chair in the reclining position. Now it works very well. The sensor does not emit sounds and lights, which I think is most important.

We make good use of the Kepler alarms

One of our clients is often restless at night and then leaves the bed or even the room. The psychologist and I can make good use of the Kepler Night Nurse’s alarms to see when this has happened, and we discovered that the client’s going to bed early was the cause of the restlessness.

More peace of mind for care staff and residents

Before, if we got an alarm, we didn’t know what to expect. Had someone fallen, was help needed or was it a false alarm because the comforter was hanging next to the bed? With the new system, we get different types of notifications and that gives both us and the residents more peace of mind.

Customized settings

“You can now set per client when you want to get a notification. For some, that can be as soon as someone gets out of bed. And for another only if the person is not back in bed after ten minutes, or not at all.”

Employees are willing to change

“The introduction of the fall prevention and fall detection system Kepler Night Nurse at the Solbø Nursing Home has been particularly successful because employees are willing to change: ‘They are committed and hardly skeptical about digitalization.

Increased privacy through Kepler Night Nurse

We noticed within ‘The Coach House’ that the care was getting heavier and heavier and that we regularly had to check in the residents’ rooms to make sure everything was okay. Kepler Night Nurse reduces the workload and gives people more privacy.”

Residents experience increased safety

Residents report that the system provides greater safety. It also reduces the need for night shifts because notifications are immediately relayed in the event of a fall.

Less pressure on care

We chose Kepler to reduce the pressure on care. With their software, we are experiencing a huge drop in the number of reports – and current reports now actually matter. So we have more control of the site, clients feel safer AND staff have more time left over to actually provide care.”
